How Can I Help You and Your Dog

At Teach Dogs, I specialise in behaviour modification and training, helping you address and resolve common issues such as:

Reactivity: If your dog barks at other dogs or people, I’ll teach you how to manage and modify their reactions, making walks enjoyable again.

Separation Anxiety: Does your dog bark, scratch at doors, or have accidents when you leave? I can guide you through the process of helping your dog feel comfortable being alone, so you can leave the house guilt-free.

Car Travel Issues: If your dog is anxious during car rides, I can help them overcome this fear, allowing you both to enjoy stress-free travel.

Rescue Dogs: I assist in building strong, trusting relationships with rescue dogs, addressing their unique training and behavioural needs.

Puppy Training: Planning to bring a puppy into your home? I’ll help you set them up for lifelong success with positive behaviour training.

Teach About Dogs

How Can I Help Children and Families?

As a professional member of Kids Around Dogs (KAD), I specialise in helping families and schools foster positive, harmonious relationships between children and dogs. Whether your child is fearful of dogs, you want to ensure a respectful, dog-savvy household, or your school is considering introducing a school dog, I am here to provide the support and expertise you need.

Having personally dealt with a fear of dogs as both a child and an adult, I fully understand the anxiety that can come with encountering dogs. Using the KAD protocols, which incorporate cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), I work with individuals of all ages to transform fear into confidence. This program is designed to help you and your loved ones feel safe and comfortable around dogs, enabling you to enjoy life without fear holding you back.

Teach Dogs also provides comprehensive guidance for schools, nurseries, and kids’ clubs on how to safely and ethically introduce dogs into these environments. Whether you’re considering a therapy dog for your school or want to help your children understand, train, and respect dogs, I’m here to offer the support and expertise you need.

Continuous Professional Development

I am committed to staying at the forefront of dog training by keeping up with the latest developments in the field. As a lifetime member of the Dog Training College, I have access to the most current training methods and techniques available. Additionally, I am advancing my education by pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour from the British College of Canine Studies. This dedication to ongoing learning ensures that every training session I offer is informed by the latest, evidence-based practices.

I also engage in continuous professional development, including specialized courses with KAD that emphasize the welfare and safety of both children and therapy dogs. My priority is to work closely with you and your child, adapting our approach to meet your unique needs and creating a safe, supportive environment that nurtures your child’s growth and well-being.

How Can Monty Help?

Monty, our school therapy dog, plays a key role in my work. As a gentle and well-trained dog, he provides comfort and support to children and adults alike, helping them to feel more at ease and teaching valuable lessons about empathy and care. Monty’s presence enhances learning experiences, whether at home or in school, and he is a wonderful example of how dogs can positively impact lives.

If your child, you, or your family could benefit from learning more about dogs or need help in training and building a stronger bond with a new or existing dog, Teach Dogs is here to support you.
